Well,
today we were headed to Etopena until we got to the door and
discussed the days of theweek. Bob wanted tosee the beach and Julie
wanted togo to the market but we realized it was Thursday and not
Wednesday so the market was not in that town today. We walked to the
car and sat therea minute and decided to go toJerez to the sherry
country. We left Gaucin and drove to the Cortez turnoff. We took
that turnoff and headed toward Cortez. It was through the
Grazelmine Nature Park. The roads were only one lane wide, if that,
and we wound and wound through the park. Julie enjoyed it and Bob
was white knuckle. Needless to say, it took a long time. We
finally made it to the main road and then to Jerez. When we got to
the town we found a place to park and then walked to the information
booth. There was a festival in town at a very large venue rght
across from where we parked but first we stopped for a drink and
watched the flamingo dancers, walked by the cathedral, palace, and
went to a bogeda, to take a tour of the sherry production. We were
the only English speakers so we got a private tour. It was so much
fun. Left there and walked back to the car with our treasures and
headed for the fiesta. It was the fiesta for the Andalucian horses
and of horses in their regalia and people in costume everywhere. It
was so fun. We left around 5 and headed home, a much faster way but
it still took 2.5 hours. (I bought Chance a gift I had been looking
for at the market.) We got home and now we will go out for a late
dinner because I am starved!!!
